On 26 May, a MPI Magnesium delegation, led by Andrei Degeratu, Chief Executive Officer, and Mihai Roșu, Chief Operating Officer, held a first working meeting with the members of the Rășinari Local Council.
During the discussions, representatives of the local councillors raised questions about the MPI Magnesium project, its stages of development, and the impact it may have on the local community. A number of ideas and proposals were also put forward regarding the ways in which the project could contribute, in concrete terms, to supporting initiatives and priorities of local interest.
The MPI Magnesium representatives welcomed the open dialogue and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining transparent communication with the local authorities and with the Rășinari community. At the same time, they expressed their openness towards the local projects presented during the meeting and their willingness to explore forms of support that can be developed in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Following the discussions, a decision was also taken to open an information point in Rășinari, providing the local community with direct access to information about the project, its stages of development, and the main topics of interest to residents. Through this initiative, MPI Magnesium aims to encourage an open dialogue grounded in transparency and accurate information.
The meeting took place in a constructive and positive atmosphere, with both parties drawing conclusions that favour the continuation of the dialogue.
MPI Magnesium considers its relationship with the local community and its representatives to be essential to the responsible development of the project, and will continue to support a framework for discussion based on transparency, respect, and collaboration.
