INTEGRATED MINING AND PROCESSING PROJECTOverview

MPI Magnesium is a strategic mining and processing development in Sibiu County, Romania, designed to supply with high-purity magnesium materials and strengthen critical raw material independence.

ADVANCED APPROVAL PROCESS

100% Romanian project of international relevance, launched in 2020, mining permit expected in 2026.

PREMIUM MgO PRODUCT

High-grade serpentine ore, a key element to ultra pure MgO, essential for the production of materials with strategic industrial applications.

ULTRA PURE Mg(OH)2

Meeting rising demand for high-value, high-purity Mg(OH)₂ of FR quality as an flame retardant in advanced polymers, cables, and coatings.

EU AND LOCAL SUPPORTED PROJECT

Backed by EU strategic minerals directive* with strong support of local authorities.

(*) Critical Raw Materials Act

MAGNESIUM METAL

Processing to obtain a high value-added Mg metal possible to align with the EU’s 10% domestic extracting policy.

ADVANCED PROJECT, MOVING INTO EXECUTION

With exploration complete and studies validated, MPI Magnesium is now moving decisively into the execution phase: mining permit expected in 2026 and production targeted for 2030.

PROJECT STRUCTURETwo Integrated Divisions

Each division has its own dedicated infrastructure, technology, and product focus — united by a single logistics corridor and a shared mission to supply European industry with domestically produced magnesium.

01Mining division

The Mining Division focuses on the responsible extraction of high-grade serpentine resources in Sibiu County. It combines modern open-pit methods, low-impact transport, and long-term resource management to ensure a stable and sustainable supply of raw material for downstream magnesium processing.

02Processing Division

The Processing Division transforms extracted serpentine into high-purity magnesium compounds through advanced granulometric and hydrometallurgical stages. Designed for efficiency and environmental responsibility, it ensures consistent product quality while supporting downstream industrial applications and future magnesium metal production.
