From ore to high-purity magnesium compounds — through a clean, closed-loop hydrometallurgical process built to European standards.

Planned for the Sibiu area, with site selection in progress, the processing plant is where the project’s industrial value is created — converting high-grade serpentine ore, delivered via the zero-emission ropeway and electric truck fleet, into ultra-pure magnesium compounds through a clean, closed-loop hydrometallurgical process designed to meet the most stringent European industrial and environmental standards.

In Phase 1, the project involves producing high-purity magnesium oxide (MgO) and magnesium hydroxide [Mg(OH)₂] through a closed-loop hydrometallurgical process. Phase 2 provides for developing capacity to produce fused magnesia. A potential Phase 3 may include the production of magnesium metal. The technology for this stage has not yet been selected, and several technological alternatives are under review.
